Christopher is the Ruby Suns' fourth album, and their third for Sub Pop. On Christopher, band-leader Ryan McPhun runs with his enthusiasm for the ecstatic dance-floor energy of Scandinavian gloss-pop; McPhun has stopped thinking so much and joined the party. McPhun and A-list engineer Chris Coady (Beach House, Grizzly Bear, Gang Gang Dance) spent two weeks in NYC polishing Christopher to an opalescent sheen, yielding the kind of expensive-sounding, future-leaning ear candy typically in the province of Top 40 radio.
